Variants of Tree Kernels for XML Documents
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this paper, we discuss tree kernels that can be applied for the classification of XML documents based on their DOM trees. DOM trees are ordered trees, in which every node might be labeled by a vector of attributes including its XML tag and the textual content. We describe four new kernels suitable for this kind of trees: a tree kernel derived from the well-known parse tree kernel, the set tree kernel that allows permutations of children, the string tree kernel being an extension of the so-called partial tree kernel, and the soft tree kernel, which is based on the set tree kernel and takes into a account a “fuzzy” comparison of child positions. We present first results on an artificial data set, a corpus of newspaper articles, for which we want to determine the type (genre) of an article based on its structure alone, and the well-known SUSANNE corpus.

Classification of Documents Based on the Structure of Their DOM Trees
In this paper, we discuss kernels that can be applied for the classification of XML documents based on their DOM trees. DOM trees are ordered trees in which every node might be labeled by a vector of attributes including its XML tag and the textual content. We describe five new kernels suitable for such structures: a kernel based on predefined structural features, a tree kernel derived from the...

Due to the increasing number of documents, XML, effectively organize these documents in order to retrieve useful information from them is essential. A possible solution is performed on the clustering of XML documents in order to discover knowledge. Clustering XML documents is a key issue of how to measure the similarity between XML documents. Conventional clustering of text documents using a do...
متن کاملPrototyping a Vibrato-Aware Query-By-Humming (QBH) Music Information Retrieval System for Mobile Communication Devices: Case of Chromatic Harmonica
Background and Aim: The current research aims at prototyping query-by-humming music information retrieval systems for smart phones. Methods: This multi-method research follows simulation technique from mixed models of the operations research methodology, and the documentary research method, simultaneously. Two chromatic harmonica albums comprised the research population. To achieve the purpose ...
متن کاملDiscovering Minimal Infrequent Structures from XML Documents
More and more data (documents) are wrapped in XML format. Mining these documents involves mining the corresponding XML structures. However, the semi-structured (tree structured) XML makes it somewhat difficult for traditional data mining algorithms to work properly. Recently, several new algorithms were proposed to mine XML documents. These algorithms mainly focus on mining frequent tree struct...
متن کاملInformation extraction from structured documents using k-testable tree automaton inference
Information extraction (IE) addresses the problem of extracting specific information from a collection of documents. Much of the previous work on IE from structured documents, such as HTML or XML, uses learning techniques that are based on strings, such as finite automata induction. These methods do not exploit the tree structure of the documents. A natural way to do this is to induce tree auto...
